Where is Kalapatthar?

Kalapatthar (English translation: black rock) is a prime landmark and a prominent hill located at an altitude of 5,644 m (18,222 ft) of Everest Base Camp Trek in the Khumbu region. It is a relatively short but very challenging hike in the Himalayas of Nepal. Situated above Gorakshep, Kalpathhar is a popular destination for trekkers in the Everest region due to an accessible closeup and 360-degree view of the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8848.86 m) along with Lhotse (8516 m), Pumori (7161 m), Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, and Lobuche.
