    EBC Solo - Nov2022

    Clarlie Sequared, December 04, 2022

Cannot recommend Footprint Adventures highly enough, I organised my trek last minute through Adhikari on Facebook, it was stress free and everything has been flawless.

I hiked with Makaraj Tamang who spoke excellent English, had a good sense of humour, was flexible to my needs and was very knowledgeable. Also a great photographer! I hiked as a solo female and felt comfortable the whole time.

I hiked in November 22 and the weather was perfect and the hike was very well planned out and timed well with acclimatization days.

I will definitely book with Footprint Adventures on my next trip to Nepal.

Exceeded all our needs and expectations!!

    Mariane, December 03, 2022

The Footprint Adventure team surpassed everyone's expectations with their 18-day Annapurna Circuit Trek how the trek was operated. Anyone thinking about going on a trekking vacation in Nepal should definitely choose Footorint Adventure. One young individual and four older people made up our group of five people. Sharan, from Footprint Adventure, did an amazing job arranging the front end logistics, and he was able to put together an excellent crew for us, which consisted of our guide, Dipak, and three porters named Ram, Lakxman, and Dilip. We were immersed in the history and natural splendor of Nepal from the moment we landed till the moment we left the country. At every point along the 11-day Annapurna Circuit journey, it was clear that Dipak had extensive experience working as a guide. Because of his genuine and thorough attention to each person and detail, our complete group was able to have a wonderful day together.
The hiking experience was wonderful in terms of daily progress as well as offering adequate opportunities to explore the important attractions along the circuit. Both the food and the lodgings were quite good. The porters were with us each and every day, and they were important participants in each and every activity. Our experience of the Nepalese culture, including trekking, singing, dancing, and card playing, is significantly enhanced by the presence of Nepal's friendly porters. Due to the fact that he pays close attention to detail and makes an effort on a personal level to improve our experience, there is no question that Ram will be an outstanding guide the next year.
We came closer together as a team as we celebrated Nepal's natural beauty and immersed ourselves in the country's rich culture. Every day provided a new opportunity for me to practice the skills of visiting and interacting with other people, which are skills that I intend to continue developing for the rest of my life.

best organization for trekking in Nepal!!

    Leah, December 01, 2022

On the trip, our guide Ramesh was incredibly educated and had a keen eye for finding all types of wildlife. We had the impression that he was interested in what we had to say and picked up a lot of information from him about the sacred Himalayan peaks, as well as the culture and religion of other places. In order to get us ready for the next day, he would give us a thorough rundown of what we should anticipate on the hike, including the distance, the level of difficulty, and the items we should watch out for along the way. Because of this, we were able to gain confidence and get ourselves ready for the day.
The guest homes located along the trails came fully stocked with modern conveniences such as wireless internet access, heating stoves in the communal dining rooms, and steam showers.
In terms of food, we indulged primarily in dal bhat, which supplied us with the much-needed fuel for the hikes. Nevertheless, there are typically a large number of other options available for you to pick from.
Now that we're talking about the walk itself, we thought the Manaslu Circuit Trek was an excellent example of an underappreciated hike. As we made our way closer to the snow-capped mountains, we passed through subtropical rainforests, coniferous woods, and eventually broke out of the tree line. The continuously shifting landscape never ceased to amaze us, and we found ourselves in a state of amazement the entire time. Definitely a hike that is manageable for hikers who have a moderate level of fitness or who are just starting out! Footprint Adventure is one of the best organization for trekking in Nepal.

    Mera Peak 2022

    Seda Gules, November 30, 2022

That was my second trip with footprint adventure. And it won't be my last. Thank you so much for this professional organization- again. Also a big thanks to my guide Nima and my porter. Both were very nice and helpful. It was a hard journey, but it was worth it. Beautiful views and kind people in the guest houses. Unforgettable. The hotel Kumari in Kathmandu is for me a super choice. It’s centrally located and you can do a lot of great things on foot. The owner and the staff were always very friendly. Hope to see you next year!

    Best company in Nepal !

    Stephen Burkhardt, November 30, 2022

I would highly recommend Sharan and his team to take care of any and all trips you plan for Nepal. Sharan is very quick and knowledgeable while responding to queries and explaining every step of your journey in detail. He is very pro at customizing the trips according to my needs and requirements for the trip. He was flexible in terms of choosing Hotels, and additional days and he also arrange to fly back by helicopter from Lukla to Kathmandu without paying an extra amount. The guide Chhring was very young and passionate about his job and takes extra care always and he serve us delicious apples, oranges, and pomegranates each day.  They take pride in showing you around their country and giving info along the way about everything we come across. I would highly recommend using Footprint Adventure for booking your trek. I am still in Kathmandu as I write this review but I am already planning my next trip with them for the Annapurna Circuit Trek in the coming autumn season.

The Great Gokyo Lake Trek with Abhishek

    Mathew. P, November 29, 2022

Since I just finished the Gokyo to EBC via Cho La Pass Trek, I can't say enough good things about Footprint Adventure and can't wait to book my next trip with them. From picking us up at the airport to dropping us off at our destination, the service was perfect. The Nepalese dinner and pre-trek meeting were both informative, as were their website and emails before the trip. They also seemed genuinely interested in making improvements, as they followed up with me in person after the trip to get more feedback.
The pre-trek city tour of Kathmandu with our city guide Prakash was a nice touch, and I liked how the trip included cultural aspects. All of the vehicles were in good shape, and I was amazed at how well the drivers got around the busy city streets. The teahouses along the trek were all comfortable enough, and the places we stayed in Kathmandu were very nice. All of the food I ate on the trek was made in a clean way and tasted good enough.
I can't say enough good things about my guide Abhishek, who looked out for my needs and general well-being (he regularly monitored my blood O2 levels, and ensured that any discomforts were manageable). Abhishek's messages were very clear, and he was able to answer all of my questions and concerns. He also knew a lot about the mountains. During the whole trip, he gave me good advice about what to eat at the teahouses, and what to wear for the day's weather, and even took pictures of me. Most amazingly, when I told Abhishek that I wanted to see rhinos, he was able to figure out how fit I was and speed up our trip by two days so that I could add a spontaneous trip to Chitwan National Park after the EBC trek. I feel very lucky to have had a guide like Abhishek who was so knowledgeable and kind.
Last but not least, it was always amazing to see Porter Chhiring walk over rough terrain with my heavy bag on his back as if it were nothing. We really value all of his hard work. Overall, my trip with Abhishek and Footprint Adventure couldn't have gone any better, and I'm looking forward to traveling with them again.

Narphu Valley trek with an ease

    Erika. M, November 29, 2022

It is required by Nepal that you have a guide with you if you are going to go trekking in the Nar Phu valley. I suppose this is for conservation and safety reasons. I feel it's important to address this topic because I'm aware that many people who enjoy being outdoors in the United States consider it "less adventurous" to hire a guide and a porter because it means you won't be "hitting the open trail" or carrying all of your own gear. I want to clarify why this is the case. Because of the high altitude, the difficult landscape, and the different cultural norms, I am really relieved that I did not fall for the romanticized image of going alone. High altitude, rugged terrain, and different cultural norms do not care how daring you believe you are. Your guide is not only there to show you the trail, but also to educate you on the local culture and history, and to serve as a safety net in the event that you develop AMS. Your porter can also assist you with some of these tasks, and I can assure that he is more adept at maintaining his balance while carrying big loads than you are. Packing strategically is the greatest method to prepare for an adventure trip to a distant location. I couldn't help but shake my head in disbelief when I observed one porter on the trail carrying a large bag for two people who appeared to have very little hiking expertise between them.
Ramesh was my guide, and Chhiring was my porter; both of them did an amazing job for me! Ramesh was appointed to serve as my guide not only due to the inaccessibility of the Nar Phu route but also due to the time constraints involved. I was told that he was one of Footprint's very finest, and after seeing his work for myself, I can certainly see why. He has spent the past five years working in the Himalayas, is extremely fluent in English (which made communication a breeze and added a lot of fun to the experience), and has a wealth of experience from which to draw when offering advice on how to avoid problems such as altitude-related sickness (AMS). He also has an extensive knowledge of the mountains and routes in this region. If you are considering going on this hike (or going to Everest base camp, or Upper Mustang), you should check with these men beforehand to see if they are available, and if they are, you can rest assured that you will be in good hands and will have a lot of fun along the route.
My time spent at Nar Phu was indeed taxing. I am really happy that I did it, but I must warn you that it packs quite a punch and is not nearly as simple as the circuit on its own. Nonetheless, if you are up to the challenge, you should most certainly book it with Ace.
I have every intention of returning back to Nepal, and if I do any more trekking in the future (which is highly likely), I will most certainly book it via Footprint Adventure.

Amazing Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lake with my dad

    Janis. Perry, November 25, 2022

I just got back from an amazing trip to the Himalayas with my dad which I will never forget. We chose a trek that went through Gokyo Lakes and ended at Everest Base Camp. From the first email we sent to the tour company almost a year before our trip, we knew we had picked the right one. Sharan, who worked for the company in Nepal as a trip coordinator, answered all of our questions about times, what to expect on the trip and other details of the trip. He always replied quickly and made sure our hotels and airport pickups were booked. When my flights changed at the last minute, he made it easy and convenient to change times and book extra days. At every step, everyone at Footprint was friendly, professional, and most of all, helpful.
It was also nice to see hand sanitizer in offices and hotels, along with signs that said they were taking Covid-19 safety measures. It feels good to get back on the road. The real journey? What an amazing thing! Our wonderful guide Ramesh and our porter Chhiring made it possible and made it even better. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Ramesh knew a lot about the trail, the mountains, the tea houses, the plants and animals, and the question "Which mountain is that?" didn't bother him at all. Regardless of how many times I asked! He gave us great advice about what to eat at the different tea houses as we got higher and further away, which was very helpful. He also made sure we had everything we needed by taking our food and drink orders, checking our oxygen levels, asking how we slept, and making sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience. He told us every night what the next day would be like, how long it would be, how steep it would be, what the weather would be like, etc. He is a great guide, but he also has a great sense of humor. This made the 15-day trek a lot of fun, even when we had to spend hours on "Nepalese Flat" between steep climbs. Thank you, Ramesh, for a great time.
Our porter Chhiring was a real star! Every day, he made us look bad by carrying our duffel bags and beating us to the teahouses. We had our bags in rain covers, so they looked the same, but he still knew who's was who's and made sure we had the key to the room with the right bag every night. He was nice and helpful, and he did all the heavy lifting for us so we could go on this trip. I admire and respect him a lot for what he can do. Overall, this was a great trip, and I'd like to thank everyone at Footprint Adventure for making this "bucket list" item so much fun.
