UNESCO World Heritage sites are remarkable places with universal value recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). These places are chosen for their importance to culture, history, or nature and are safeguarded to ensure their preservation for future generations.

Nepal, located between two big Asian countries, offers an extensive variety of venerable ancient cultures, history, monuments, and wildlife. Out of the 1,154 world heritage sites designated by UNESCO, 10 are located in Nepal and are divided into three categories: cultural, natural, and mixed properties. Of these, 8 are cultural heritage sites, and 2 are natural heritage sites that draw tourists from all over the world.
